A BILL to amend article two, chapter seventeen-a of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section
twenty-four, relating to continuing the department of motor
vehicles.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That article two, chapter seventeen-a of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section twenty-
four, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 2. DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES.
§17A-2-24. Termination of department.

The department of motor vehicles shall terminate on the first
day of July, two thousand three, pursuant to the provisions of
article ten, chapter four of this code unless sooner terminated,
continued or reestablished pursuant to the provisions of that
article.

(NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue the department
of motor vehicles until July 1, 2003, pursuant to the West Virginia
sunset law.
